A verb is a word that shows action or being. Whatever you are doing can be expressed by a verb.
A sentence can have only one word as long as that word is a verb. Play! Stop! Run يمكن ان تحتوي الجمله على كلمه واحده مادامت تلك الكلمه فعلا .. مثل / العب ... توقف ... اجري
Verbs can be classified according to whether they are يمكن ان نصنف الافعال الى .. action verbs or linking verbs
Action verbs
Action verbs are used to show when somebody does something وهي الافعال التي تشير بوقوع حدث معين .. There are two types of action verbs
transitive and intransitive

Intransitive verbs الفعل اللازم ..
An intransitive verb expresses an action but is not followed by an object. Applying (what?) or (whom?) test to an intransitive verb shows immediately that an object cannot follow.
الفعل الازم هو الفعل الذي يُدلل بوقوع حدث ولكنه لا يُتبع بمفعول به
Examples//
Tom’s grades improved(what? whom?) with the help of a tutor. The child cried(what? whom?) loudly. The mother sang(what? whom?) to her children.

English regular and irregular verbs Regular Verbs
Most English verbs are regular. Regular verbs just add –d or –ed when they change principal parts from the present to the past to the past participle. اغلب الافعال في اللغه الانجليزيه هي افعال منتظمــه والافعال المنتظمه هي التي لايتغير شكلها بتغير الزمن إلا اننا نضيف اضافات بسيطه فقط لنوضح تغير الزمن مثل اضافه d or -ed- في الزمن الماضي البسيط والمضارع والماضي التام .. مثل ..
I learn English now. (present) I learned English last year. (past) In a short time she has learned English well. (past participle)
Irregular Verbs الافعال الغير منتظمــه
Irregular Verbs form their past tenses and past participles in unpredictable ways صياغه الافعال الغير منتظمه تكون بطريقه متقلبه ولا يوجد لها قاعده معينه مثل الافعال المنتظمه .
There are some patterns among them
هذه بعض الامثله للافعال الغير منتظمه .. (blow-blew) know -knew , (spring-sprang drink-drank
but it is not always easy to apply these paterns. The only way to learn irregular verbs is to memorize them.
